Biography
The Art and Design Room provides a creative sanctuary founded on the belief that art should be accessible to everyone. We deliver GCSE Art and Textiles education to home-educated learners across the UK, creating an inclusive and supportive environment where young people can explore creativity, develop technical skills, and build confidence.
Participating in Art in the Park, Leamington Spa would offer a unique and meaningful opportunity for our students, some as young as 13, to experience their work exhibited in a professional public setting. Seeing their artwork displayed, celebrated, and enjoyed by a wider audience helps validate their creative voices and encourages a lifelong connection with the arts.
This opportunity supports personal growth and pride, while demonstrating the value of accessible arts education. We aim to inspire both our students and the public, highlighting the importance of nurturing creativity within the community.

Students at The Art and Design Room are encouraged to explore and develop their own individual sources of inspiration. Rather than working to a single theme, learners draw influence from a wide range of interests, experiences, and visual cultures. Inspiration can come from architecture and the built environment, street art and contemporary urban culture, personal passions such as boxing, as well as more traditional subjects including portraiture and landscapes.
This open approach allows each student to express their unique voice and perspective, resulting in a diverse and exciting body of work. The variety of influences reflects the individuality of the students themselves and celebrates creative freedom. By supporting personal interests and curiosity, we foster authenticity, confidence, and originality in our learners. The work produced is varied in style, medium, and subject matter, demonstrating the richness and diversity of young creative talent.

Students are encouraged to explore a wide range of materials, techniques, and processes as part of their creative development. Working across both traditional and contemporary approaches, learners experiment with oil painting and watercolour alongside mixed media methods, printmaking, drawing, and surface design. Textile-based work including stitched, layered, and sculptural textiles is also encouraged.
