Biography

Kalwarska’s mission is to explore mark-making as a playful, expressive process. Through painting and collage, she transforms individual gestures into vibrant abstract works. Her vision is to create joyful, visually striking pieces that spark curiosity and invite viewers to question what they are seeing.

inspiration

She draws inspiration from colour, movement, and the physical act of mark-making. Her compositions often loosely reference landscapes and rock formations, appearing as fragmented, half-remembered places filtered through abstraction.

Working primarily with acrylic paint, Kalwarska also incorporates coloured pencil, oil pastel, and linocut. She cuts and recombines painted marks into colourful collages that mimic abstract paintings, introducing a subtle sense of visual play and theatrical deception.
