Biography

My vision is to create artworks that create an atmosphere and a sense of scape. I use colours and textures to evoke that feeling. My aim is always to create a piece that suggests as opposed to depict, and let the compostion and colour combinations stimulate the viewers emotions.

I often paint large scale, which crreates more of a statement piece on the wall.

inspiration

Being brought up in the English Lake District I am inspired by atmospheric and rugged scapes, both sea and mountains. I use texture and blends to create a sense of place in my artworks, leaving plenty for the viewer to imagine. I travel frequently, always armed with at least a sketchpad, but mostly with tye full quiver of paints and canvases.

I use mainly Acrylc in a mixed media practice. IO paint on both canvas, acrylic paper, and board.

I usually crteate texture as white on white. Then work over with more texture and colour blends on the quiet areas of the canvas
