Biography
Nadège Honey is a jewellery designer based in Northampton. Her work is all about incorporating elements of colour, mood and happiness into the pieces she designs and creates. Nadège is drawn to bright, vibrant colours that evoke a sense of joy and playfulness. The tactile nature of jewellery allows her to create pieces that not only look beautiful but feel great to wear (and can often be a conversation starter). Each piece she creates is hand made with particular attention to detail and finish. Much of her work holds a special meaning and draws on memories and experiences that have shaped her as an artist. Nadège is constantly inspired by the world around her and she hopes that her jewellery brings a feeling of happiness to those who wear it.
inspiration
Nadège's inspiration is very varied, but generally, vibrant colours and interesting shapes have an effect on her. As a result, nature, architecture, and her travels are a great source of inspiration. She also draws from her memories and her signature BRETON Jewellery Collection for example is inspired by the summers she spent in Brittany and the West coast of France as a child.
medium
Nadège works with polymer clay, a very versatile clay, which is both malleable and miscible. She uses primary colours to mix her own colours (one of her favourite step in the jewellery making process). She loves making patterns in the clay, which she then uses to create earrings, necklaces, bracelets and brooches.
Once she is happy with the jewellery, she bakes the pieces and then sands, polishes and assembles them.
The possibilities are endless and Nadège still enjoys exploring the medium which she feels she knows very well.
