Biography

byMaraca offers traditional silversmithing for non-traditional people - with the goal of creating affordable jewellery that is original and full of character. By using brass as the main working material, the look of gold is achieved without the price tag or ethical conundrums, making byMaraca a brand that champions handmade creativity while being accessible to all.

inspiration

Mareike draws her inspiration from the delightful moments in life, treasuring the whimsical and capturing it in a wearable form. Most pieces happen on the workbench, be it born from the question whether metal clay could be used like puff pastry to become a croissant, a play with beads and pearls to create rainclouds, or an exploration of the melting point of metal that results in unique textures.

Choosing to use brass in the world of silversmithing is an unusual move - and one byMaraca embraces. Especially with silver and gold prices rising, brass so far has seen much smaller increases, allowing byMaraca to not only maintain an affordable portfolio, but also still allow play and experimentation without risking resources. The results are playful pieces that are made with expert skills.
