Biography
My artist mission is to express my experiences, feelings, and emotions through my artwork. I use different colours, mediums, and textures to convey my message.
At Art by Kanika Sharma, my vision is to create unique, beautiful, and thought-provoking paintings that leave a lasting impression on the viewer. I also strive to make my paintings accessible, inclusive, and meaningful to all audience.
I believe in being playful and creative is important in every piece of work I do, whether it is an original, bespoke, or commissioned painting, as there is no right way to paint. Additionally, it's important for me to experiment and try new styles and painting techniques.
My goal is to feature my work in home, office, galleries, or even in public spaces. My work includes abstract, landscapes, seascapes, spiritual, and floral paintings.
inspiration
As an artist, I have always been fascinated by the beauty and complexity of the natural world. I find inspiration in the way that light plays across the landscape, the way that colours blend and change with the seasons, and the intricate patterns and textures found in nature.
When I sit in a park or gaze out at a seascape, I can fully immerse myself in the beauty of the moment. I take in all the colours, textures, and emotions of that particular moment, and use them to create something that reflects the essence of that experience.
In addition to drawing inspiration from my own experiences, I have also been deeply influenced by some of the world's greatest artists. Painters like J.M.W Turner, J.A.M Whistler, Van Gogh, Claude Monet, and Stephen Wilshire.
medium
Throughout my art career, I have had the opportunity to work with an array of materials, including stretched canvases, watercolor paper, wallpaper, and even newspaper. The mediums that I use to bring my creations to life include acrylics, watercolors, gouache, inks, oil pastels, spray paints, biros, and occasionally, a touch of nature with a leaf.
When working with these mediums, I enjoy experimenting with textures and adding depth to my pieces. To achieve this, I use a variety of tools such as brushes, palette knives, sponges, buds, and even tread stitching. I believe that the use of different mediums and tools allows me to express my creativity in unique ways and bring my artistic vision to life.
