Biography

Gourd art is practically unknown in the UK although highly developed in other countries. I want to introduce the possibility of growing your own medium and producing a wide variety of artistic items. I also combine stained glass with gourds making unique pieces in 3D.

inspiration

Turning a vegetable (hard shelled gourds) into art is very inspiring !
I also take inspiration from nature featuring animals and birds in my stained glass

medium

Hard Shelled Gourds are the oldest cultivated plant having been grown all over the world in temperate regions for thousands of years. Today they are a major art form in the USA with every state having a gourd society and festivals.
I grow them here at Leasowe Farm and produce about 100/ year
