What excites me most is the ability of colour and form to evoke feeling and spark curiosity. I’m drawn to contrasts: the interplay between light and shadow, the tension between realism and abstraction, and the dialogue between solitude and connection. My influences range from urban environments, the natural world and aboriginal, and I often incorporate elements that invite viewers to interpret their own stories within the work.
My process is intuitive and layered. I build each piece through a combination of planned structure and spontaneous mark-making, allowing the painting to evolve organically. This approach keeps the work fresh and alive, and it’s in the moments of discovery that viewers perceive in a piece where I find the most meaning as an artist.
