Biography
Black and Tortie miniature worlds spark imagination and invite quiet moments of wonder. Through handcrafted book nooks and detailed miniatures, each piece celebrates storytelling, cosy spaces, and the magic found between the pages of a book. Each piece is carefully made to feel lived-in, atmospheric, and full of character, encouraging viewers to pause and explore the tiny details. Inspired by books, nostalgia, and the comfort of small worlds, my mission is to create miniature scenes that bring joy, curiosity, and a sense of escape to book lovers and collectors alike.

Inspiration
Black and Tortie miniatures are inspired by the stories we read and the knowledge we collect. Drawing from both fiction and non-fiction books, handcrafted book nooks and miniatures celebrate imagination, curiosity, and the joy of learning. From well-worn novels to fascinating real-world subjects, each piece reflects a love of storytelling in all its forms. The aim is to capture the feeling of stepping into a book, whether it’s an invented world or a moment grounded in reality, creating detailed, atmospheric scenes that invite quiet exploration, reflection, and a deeper connection to the stories that shape us.
medium
Black and Tortie book nooks are normally in what inspired them - a book! I create miniature worlds around both fiction and non-fiction themes. Drawing on a wide range of miniaturist and mixed media techniques, each piece is built as a small world filled with story, texture, and atmosphere. From paper and wood, to fabric and paint; found materials to 3D printed details, I try to choose the right medium for the right part of each diorama. The joy of making miniatures is that it involves collecting all sorts of different skills along the way.
