Biography
Gavin Darby trades under the name frailloop. He believes that every thing in the environment is interconnected and the chain is only as strong as the weakest link, the frail loop. To try to reduce his footprint he uses as much scrap metal as he can within his work. His studio is a recycled pig sty, powered by solar panels in the field next door.

Gavin is inspired by the shape and form of the found material. In his hands a piece of iron railing becomes the head of a seahorse...
medium
Gavin uses scrap steel, old tools, repurposed fence and anything that will take a weld to create dragons, fish, birds and whatever his imagination sees in the material.
