Biography
Being a plein air painter, Emma is open to the elements of the day. She paints in all weathers, painting quickly to catch the light. Emma's work often gives the viewer a happy memory of a place, a holiday or feeling of being somewhere and sharing her viewpoint.
Emma also paints Pet Portraits, Still Life and works from her own photographs, offering commissions and paintings which can be personal to her customers.
Emma enjoys the connection from her work to others and finds joy by giving joy both in a painting and as a teacher.
Emma is a qualified teacher of Art for Coventry Adult Education and also offers private workshops in the Warwickshire area.

Painting locations, painting plein air it can be anywhere. Emma especially likes to paint on holiday on the beach, on a hill, in a field... anywhere.
Emma loves to work from life, painting still life objects, interiors, her garden..
She also enjoys painting a family pet and offers pet portraits by commission to her customers as well as her original works.

Emma is an oil painter mainly working from life.
She enjoys the buttery consistency of the paint and how it can be applied and blended.
Her favourite colours are Ultramarine Blue, Yellow Ochre and Burnt Umber, she never uses black in her work, she mixes her own blacks which gives her work a softer, realistic feel.
Light and colour are what makes Emma paint. She is sharing with the viewer her interpretation on that day at that place, catching a moment in time which can never be caught again.
