Biography

I am an interdisciplinary artist studying Fine Art with Contemporary Cultural Theory at The University of Leeds, who enjoys working with a range of materials and processes, from print-making to painting to textiles.
Alongside, my art practise within the university degree, I have developed a body of work in the print-making medium, surrounding the themes of childhood nostalgia, whimsy and nature. I want my works to create a sense of joy for others, as they do for me.

inspiration

The inspiration behind my work is the comfort of childhood as well as the representation of objects and themes of growing up.
Whilst my themes shift, i am always drawn to the beauty in nature, animals, people and emotions through the lens of wistfulness and imaginative elements.

medium

My primary medium is print-making. I experiment with a variety of print methods - including etchings, lino and screen-printing. All prints are originals and made by me, from the initial ideas and sketches, to the developments, and final outcomes.
I have also accumulated a body of work using the cyanotype technique incorporating different objects and photos to create nostalgic pieces, using different compounds, such as tea and coffee, to alter the colours from the classic deep blue colour to brown and purple hues, printing them not just on paper but also on fabrics such as lace or muslin.
