Biography

My mission is to bring my mythical monsters and crazy creatures to life as emotional stories.
Through colour and expressive forms I explore hidden moods and inner worlds, creating characters that feel playful, tender, strange or quietly unsettling. Each creature carry feelings and memories that exist beneath the surface, celebrating the beauty of what feels different, tender, imperfect or unexpected.
I want my work to feel like stepping into a dream, a place where imagination is free, meanings are open and individuality is expressed through personality and detail. My creatures are unique, some are slightly awkward but all full of character, blending familiarity with strangeness to create a world that feels curious and emotionally alive.

inspiration

My inspiration comes from childhood curiosity and from the wonders of nature seen through the eyes of a child. I have been drawing monsters for as long as I can remember.
As a child my fascination started with insects and bugs. I loved observing small creatures and being amazed by their shapes and behaviours, then drawing them and dreaming about them right after. Growing up in Italy I spent a lot of time outside, watching lizards crawl around and becoming curious about reptiles, amphibians and insects.
This way of seeing the natural world stayed with me as I grew up. Nature is still the main source of my work and I often mix different animals together when creating my creatures. Through my characters I try to keep that sense of wonder, curiosity and imagination alive!

medium

I have explored many techniques throughout my career. My work now focuses on three main mediums.
The first is large, cut to shape plywood or MDF pieces painted with acrylics. I cut each piece by hand using a jigsaw and paint everything myself, using a flat painting style with strong shapes and bold colours.

The second is illustration. I mainly work with traditional materials such as markers, watercolours, pastels and pens but I also enjoy creating digital work.

The third is enamel pins. For these I create digital vector artwork and prepare the directive files in collaboration with a trusted factory, making sure every detail matches my original designs. The final pins are cut to shape metal pieces filled with enamel and epoxy coated, sometimes with glitter, glow in the dark or screen printed details.
