Biography

My mission is to design and create wearable, affordable and desirable 925 sterling and 935 Argentium silver pieces of jewellery for my old and new customers by attending local (Kenilworth and Leamington) key events such as Art in the Park. I reach a wider audience with my online platform being Etsy.

My vision is to build on my local customer base by keeping up a good Leamington profile at select events where I can showcase new designs, along side my signature styles for my customers. Creating jewellery in my workshop brings me so much joy and calm and is so beneficial for my mental health.

inspiration

I have recently become fascinated with vintage jewellery from all eras. I love the structure of Art Deco and (some) modernist jewellery. I personally love to wear vintage brooches and although my work is very different, I believe my research into the history of jewellery sometimes plants a little seed for inspiration.

I am about to work on a selection of brooches and cannot wait to start playing with my creations.

I love working on organic, unique pieces, formed by pouring molten silver into cold water to produce my signature watercast pieces. I also reticulate pieces, a process of heating the silver several ties to work with the air an heat to cause rivets and uneven textures on the silver's surface. I love the feeling of working with the elements to create unique and sometimes surprising pieces. Fusing silver wire together produces magical shapes and forms which I then work with to make wearable.

I use mainly 925 sterling silver sheet and wire for my structured, contemporary pieces and I work with 935 Argentium silver for my more organic and fused items. A sprinkling of 14ct gold filled wire and freshwater cultured pearls and that's pretty much it!

I design and create all of my jewellery by hand using traditional silversmithing tools and methods from my workshop in Leamington Spa.

This is my dream job that enables me to be mum, work from home and be my own boss for something I am so passionate about.
