Cath's inspiration is taken from the natural world. For instance, the many shades of leaves in pale autumn sunlight, water snails clustering in a stream, fossilised leaves pressed into rock, climbing plants clinging to stone walls, fungi erupting from the forest floor and pebbles in rockpools on a Scottish beach. All these create amazing shapes and forms and are just some of the diverse forms that have inspired her ceramics.
