Big Green Door
The Yellow House
n the 1960s, I studied Garment Technology and Textiles at Leeds University and opened my first studio in Wexford, Ireland in 2007 working as a full time professional artist.
It was late in life when I discovered my love of painting and the fact that I could actually do it and took on a studio at East Lodge, Jephson Gardens, Leamington Spa. I am now in the process of setting up a new studio to work from based in Pershore, Worcestershire.
I admire, and am influenced by, the work of many artists including Van Gogh, Gauguin, Pissarro and early 'Naïve' artists such as Grandma Moses, Pippin, Hicks and Irish artist Markey Robinson.
I would describe my unique paintings as appealing more to the heart than to the head and hope they impart a 'feel-good' factor to you.
They are my own take on the world and are often described as Naïve crossed with pointillism.
They oil on canvass, often landscape or countryside residences, with more than a touch of Irish influence.
They are big, bright and make people smile!
I do hope you enjoy viewing my 'Naive' paintings as much as I love painting them.
