Biography

I paint mainly landscapes and seascapes in a loose semi-abstract style. I have recently been moving towards even more abstraction, and am enjoying this slight change of direction.

Both the brushstrokes and the colours are of great importance in my paintings.

inspiration

The local Chiltern Hills are a particular inspiration, but also Cornwall and Scotland where I spend some holiday time.

medium

I paint in both acrylics and oils, making use of transparency and glazing techniques to get depth of colour. I also make mixed media paintings in acrylic, using both made collage papers and found papers.
