Biography
I am self-taught and driven by my admiration of nature and its elegance. I try to show that people can live without objects but we can not live without nature.
I really feel that the placement of my wildlife and compositions I paint highlights just how magnificent wildlife is and pushes the animal to the forefront.
inspiration
My recent work concentrates on the natural world and showing how precious it is. I often use golds and rich colours in my paintings depicting beauty. I believe that gold is often associated with compassion and love, which is what I hope the viewer can see in my work. The gold also represents a material glamour and grandeur. I also single out wildlife and concentrate on the animal only, blurring backgrounds and composing the wildlife to one side of the canvas to evoke thought and wonder as to where they are going or been .
medium
Working predominantly in oil paint, charcoal and pencil. I uses precise and deliberate strokes to produce representational pieces of work. My pencil and charcoal studies concentrate on movement and texture, whilst my oil paintings are showing detail, depth and the characteristics of the subject. I love to use wooden panels and aluminium to create my artwork, painting several layers of detail.
