Biography

My work is a celebration of the decorative nature painting, using tactile textures and gilding in combination with a figurative subject matter.

inspiration

Everyday objects and environments are the main source of my inspiration: small scenes from suburban walks, quiet interiors and still lives. I work from photographs both old and new.

medium

I work mainly in acrylics, using other water-based paints, gold leaf, and mixed media to give the surface texture. The aim is to create a surface that has the organic feeling of an aged rock, or piece of bark, with the image emerging out of it.
