Biography

I make colourful illustrations of quirky animal characters that I hope will raise a smile, whilst also celebrating the natural world and seeking to encourage environmental awareness. I’ve been lucky enough work with local and national organisations that support sustainability and nature connection and my work can be found on many leaflets, education packs and sign boards, as well as greetings cards and other goodies.

inspiration

I’m inspired by a sense of love and wonder for the natural world, and wanting to share this with others. I aim to appreciate the magic (and often the humour) in the everyday and enjoy using cheerful, vibrant colours for my illustrations.

medium

Mostly I use water colour and ink, often with a scribble of pencil or pastel, and I try to capture a sense of lightness and vibrancy in my work along with a touch of humour. Then I scan my designs and get them printed as greetings cards, mugs, coasters, tote bags and other useful things. I’m also starting to use more natural and found materials, painting on wood and stone using acrylic paints, and am enjoying this new challenge.
