Biography
Tracy’s mission for her art is to raise awareness of the plight of species facing extinction due to human activity and to raise funds for conservation projects around the world. She has a background studying both Art and Earth Sciences to satisfy the desire to learn more about creativity and our incredible planet and has combined this knowledge to create impactful, emotive artwork. With the UK being one of the most nature-depleted countries on Earth and biodiversity across the world threatened due to human activity, Tracy’s vision, through art is to show what we are at risk of losing.
inspiration
Based in the bucolic Northamptonshire countryside, the inspiration for her art comes from both the wildlife that surrounds her at home and the beauty of nature across the world. From the smallest to the largest animal there is a desire to capture their beauty, colour and character in colour pencils. Having created a small haven for wildlife in her back garden, some of Tracy’s pieces of art have been based on the small creatures that call her garden home.
medium
Specialising in colour pencils, Tracy’s style is delicate and detailed, focussing on the texture and colours in nature. Her work encompasses colourful, vibrant flora, the tiny creatures found in the garden to larger wildlife both at home and abroad. Tracy chose colour pencils for their ability to layer and blend as well as the high level of detail that can be obtained from a perfectly sharp tip. They beautifully capture the fine, flyaway fur and the sparkle in the eyes while still creating depth in a portrait.
