My mission is to produce beautiful paintings that make people feel something.
Also, painting feels like something innate in me and as such I want to engage in it to see what happens. Each painting I produce is like a new journey and I’m not sure where it’s going to take me.
I love Warwickshire and am inspired by local scenery, particularly in interesting light: early morning, dusk, frost, snow…
I’m also influenced by whatever is happening in my personal life at the time; each landscape painting is linked to a person or event.
I find people and animals genuinely fascinating and love to try and capture their essence in a portrait in a way that a photograph cannot.
I use both acrylics and oil paints. I use layers to build up form and atmosphere and like to work instinctively with a variety of mark making.
