Biography
As an artist I aspire to create original, emotive, and beautiful pieces of work to be exhibited, purchased and cherished for years to come.
inspiration
My landscapes are imaginary and inspired by the expansive terrain of the Scottish Highlands and the undulating valleys of South Wales, where my family are from. I am drawn to the natural world as inspiration across all my work, which also includes British wildlife, loose floral watercolours, painted paper collage and colourful graphic style painting.
Not only is the natural world my inspiration, but it also has provided me with comfort and grounding throughout my life, particularly during difficult times.
medium
I combine a contemporary approach with an original and fresh application. Using gesso and collage from which my titles are often taken, I then layer watercolour and finally I stitch over the top of my works to add interest and focus. Occasionally I might also incorporate gold or silver leaf or any other medium I think might bring the final flourish!
I provide uncomplicated work which leaves minimal impact on the earth, I also offset the use of wood and paper by tree planting with Tree Nation. There is no better designer than the natural world and my work is my tribute to it.
