Biography

follow the LOUD aim to do exactly what it says on the tin – encourage people to follow the LOUD, challenge the norms and bring traditional print and illustration methods back to an otherwise digital world. We aim to bring texture, colour and thought provoking design to a world so immersed in digitisation and believe that every person should be allowed to express themselves in as many ways as possible, be it through their words, music, style, art or otherwise. One day, not only will our art appear in every home across the world (we already have customers in the US, Europe and Australia!), but follow the LOUD will have their art displayed globally to encourage others to pick up that pen and paper again and get thinking about the world around them. follow the LOUD promise to always be affordable, sustainable and never afraid to be bold.

inspiration

follow the LOUD are inspired by the ability to share what is going on in the world in a way you might not think about otherwise. We aim to celebrate the good through bright, bold and interesting ways and also highlight the not so good in pretty much the same way. Inspired by the dada movement, the Punk era and artists such as Linder Sterling, Jamie Reid, Barbara Kruger and Shepard Fairey, follow the LOUD have been designing for over 12 years and bringing truth to the world in the form of collage, Lino prints, illustrations using gouache paints and typography to make you stop, stare and hopefully inspire others to share their truth too.

medium

follow the LOUD mainly use traditional printing techniques to create their work. Although they do also use digital techniques when the brief requires, Lino printing, screen printing and gouache paints are used to create textured, unusual pieces to catch your eye. These pieces may be a famous FTL personalised house print to show off the house you are so proud of, or it might be a set of biscuit prints to display in your kitchen. We're always happy to take requests! follow the LOUD are also known for the occasional collage, taking the headlines to the next level by mashing them all together on one page to create something not only hilarious but also very topical and to make you think about what's going on around you in a different way.
