Biography

Landscape painter, primarily of the rivers and waterways of Warwickshire and of the far west Cornish coastline where I lived for twenty years.
I studied Fine Art at Falmouth and classical figure drawing from life at the Angel Academy of Art in Florence.
I paint plein air and also now have a studio in Stratford-upon-Avon.

inspiration

The elements, the drama of the landscape and the ethereal effect of light as it changes the familiar into the extraordinary.

medium

I paint primarily in oils, but do also create mixed media work.
I aim to combine an impressionist painting style with areas of more closely observed detail and dramatic perspective.
