Biography

Through her colourful and quirky jewellery, Nadège aims to convey emotions. Colour is good for the soul. She uses vibrant colours, interesting colour combinations and playful shapes, drawn from memories and experiences that have shaped her as an artist. She strives to evoke a sense of joy and playfulness. Her work is often said to be a conversation starter. It creates a connection between the person who wears it and the public they interact with. As a lover of beautiful objects, her goal is to create special pieces aimed at those who appreciate craftsmanship.

inspiration

My inspiration is varied: from the memories of my childhood holidays spent in Brittany and on the west coast of France, which gave birth to my distinctive ‘Breton’ collection, to nature and architecture.
My love of classic design from various eras is also a strong influence in my work. I am fascinated by the Mid-Century and Art Deco styles in particular, and some elements of these periods are often echoed in my work. I also have a special interest in homeware designs from Scandinavia. The clean lines and quirky shapes really appeal to me. Above all, I create pieces where colour, pattern and texture are foremost.

medium

Nadège uses polymer clay and sterling silver to create colourful statement jewellery in bold colours and strong patterns. Polymer clay is a very versatile medium that allows her to mix her own colours, one of her favourite steps in the process of creating jewellery. She likes to sketch ideas first, but sometimes starts to work directly with the clay to test the feasibility of a design or a pattern. Nadège's process can be quite organic but generally she visualises the colour combinations first and then the form and pattern follow.
