The Spiral

The Lonely

The Flesh
Biography
My art aims to explore the strange and fantastical. I draw surreal artwork that aims to turn heads as people want to understand what is being depicted. I have been told by some that my work is comforting and intriguing and by others that it's unsettling and dark. I'm happy with either response; as long as it makes you feel something then I have achieved my aim.
inspiration
I draw inspiration from anything I can. It can be abstract ideas or more concrete things like music, books, lived experiences... In terms of artistic influences I find myself drawn to the likes of Zdzislaw Beksinski, Giovanni Battista Piranesi, John Martin amongst many others.
medium
I use white pencils on black paper, drawing almost in negative you could say. I prefer this style to conventional drawing as I have found that it provides me with a richer darkness to the pieces and a greater level of depth. I've been drawing like this for a good while now and I'm not sure I could go back to drawing 'normally'!
