Biography

Lorna’s aim is to make affordable pieces of original art and jewellery. She uses print various print methods to create 2D and 3D pieces. Her jewellery includes unique botanical based jewellery using recycled silver and fun colourful pieces using enamel or up-cycled biscuit tins. Lorna feels cost should not be a barrier to owning original and unique pieces.

inspiration

Lorna is inspired by the world around her. Plants have a big influence in her work either being depicted in her prints or as part of the method to produce her texture and detail in her silver jewellery. That being said there are also images of every day life, from a morning coffee to disco glitter balls.

medium

Lorna’s printmaking has developed from Linocut and cyanotype to include more intaglio and mono printing methods, she does combine different methods in her printmaking practice. Her Lino is still simplistic in style. She is developing her print making into more usable items that are still all printed by hand.
Lorna’s silver jewellery still uses plants to create textures and impressions to make individual pieces of jewellery. She has started to explore torch fired enamel to create colourful and expressive jewellery.
