Biography

Art has always been a part of my life and having finally found my style about 5 years ago, it felt like the right time to have a go at exhibiting. I don’t have any qualifications in art, in fact I studied mathematics and work full time as a Digital Analyst!
I want to show that you don’t have to study art to be an artist, and you don’t have to be an expert in the field. Just do what you enjoy, and chances are there is someone out there who enjoys it too.

inspiration

Japan has inspired me from a young age: it’s culture, manga, fashion, and art, so this certainly comes across in my work. The rest of my inspirations are quite eclectic... including tattoos, book illustration, and artists such as Camilla d’Errico, Hokusai, and Aubrey Beardsley.

medium

Ink pens of various sizes are the main medium I use, whether that’s a fine nib ink pen, dip pens, markers, or brush pens. For larger areas of blackwork I have begun painting with drawing ink.
