Biography
In the early part of 2020 during the lockdowns I began creating my animal portraits. I use a mixture of photography, drawing and painting to blur the boundary between the mediums. Never intended to be sold , the art was my escape during difficult times.
People began asking where they could get my work and so I began creating the limited edition pieces.
inspiration
During the early days of the lockdowns I felt more connected to the world around me. My immediate surroundings of my garden and my village became the world for a short time. My work reflectes and celebrates this renewed connection with nature. All of the animals are local to me. Robins in my garden, the cows on dog walks, lambs in the field near my house...
medium
I use a blend of photography, paint, pencil and ink to create my work.
In some areas I reduce detail and in others add extra marks to give a depth to the work.
The finished pieces are printed on the finest German Etching Paper.
