Biography
Kirstie's aim is to produce an unequivocal likeness, without the image being a photographic representation of the subject. A preference for bold and vibrant colour has led her to progress her interest in achieving this not only through watercolour but also in pastels, where the use of pure pigment brings immediate impact.

Inspired by the natural world, Kirstie enjoys the challenge of capturing a moment from her surroundings, be it inspiration from her own garden or the local landscape.
She specialises in still life, landscape and animal portraiture, and is happy to accept commissions.

Kirstie works primarily in watercolour and pastel. Having initially trained in Graphic Design she understands the importance of accuracy in drawing to underpin her work. Using this as a foundation she then adopts a looser style, using colour expressively.
