Biography

Judith's vision is to create fused glass pieces that make people happy, to make glass art that people want to see in their homes or workplaces.
Her mission is to spread her love of coloured glasswork by teaching workshops, helping people find their own creativity and inspiring them with the artworks she creates.

inspiration

Judith's artwork is influenced by the colours and shapes of nature and the wider world, and the tactile and reflective nature of the glass itself often informs her artwork designs. Her creations vary from small coasters to large glass totem poles, fish clocks to hanging giraffes, candle holders to abstract sculptures, birds, trees and flowers and many other creations.

medium

Judith’s engineering background has given her a talent with fused glass techniques, shaping basic materials into carefully planned out shapes, fusing together in a kiln and often repeating this process many times to achieve new outcomes.
Judith uses coloured sheet glass which is hand cut into shapes which are arranged with other glass components in the shape of granular or strings shapes. Sometime copper, silver or mica is used in between the layers of glass.
The glass is then fired, maybe more than once in her kiln reaching temperatures in excess of 800oC
Some pieces are then mounted on wood or resin.
