Biography
Jacqui's work is often mistaken for pastel or water colour when viewed form afar. She hopes that the viewer will take a closer look and realise that the intricacy of the stitch marks are bringing the definition to the piece much like simple mark making with paint.
inspiration
Work inspired by form, shape and texture found in the natural world are at the heart of Jacqui's new range of textile art. Recently she has been dipping her toe in to the world of eco printing which she is merging with her felting techniques.
medium
Jacqui works predominantly with felt creating original textile imagery, vessels and wearables which are often enhanced by stitch and free machine embroidery.
Wet felting and needle felting techniques are used in her practice depending on the size, scale and subject she is working on.
