Biography
At GreenGaia we create art to inspire and connect people from all walks of life, highlighting themes of sustainability and creativity. We want to be accessible and make art that resonates with anyone wearing our t-shirts. We want our artwork to speak to you when you see it, so you can wear it with confidence and pride
Our mission focuses on using art to inspire and promote positive change for important issues, which include diversity, sustainability and ethical standards in fashion.
inspiration
The inspiration behind the art of GreenGaia comes from a blend of Art Nouveau’s intricate organic lines, and the dynamic energy of anime. I love colour and shape, and my art inspirations include Picasso, Matisse, Dali and Warhol; more recently I have been inspired by James Jean and I am looking to create a more dreamy and surreal look to better convey emotion and meaning.
For inspiration, we draw from history and legends and try to tell stories through our art that resonate with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
medium
Our art practice would best be described as mixed media. All of our designs start with pencil and alcohol ink markers. We then take these concept art pieces into the Procreate art programme on an iPad and refine them so they are suitable for use in printing on T-shirts.
We also produce acrylic paintings on canvas, with detailing that uses Posca paint markers and gold leaf accents.
