Biography
My work reflects my lifestyle, places I have visited and people I know. I have only been painting for about eight years so I like to have a go at painting many different subjects as I find what I like best. I work mainly from photographs which my husband and I have taken at home and on our travels.
inspiration
I am inspired mostly by our own photographs, whether they be of beautiful Norway, summers in Devon or interesting people. I love texture and detail which I observe closely.
medium
I paint in acrylic, occasionally oil, using mostly my palette knife. I find this gives my work a broken effect which I find hard to replicate with brushes. I work on stretched canvas for the most part and use the edges of the canvas to extend the eye and give a more finished feel to the work, eliminating the need for a frame.
