Biography
The mission of Lotti’s Artsiness is to create unique pieces of home and giftware that bring true joy to the beholder. Each art piece is designed to be enjoyed for a lifetime, and hopefully passed through the generations.
Another part of the mission is to create artwork using the most sustainable and traditional methods. The business is driven using locally sourced inspiration and reusable materials.
inspiration
My work is inspired by the magic in nature, literally and mythologically. From plants and root vegetables to witchcraft and folk whimsy.
A lot of the inspiration for the designs is predominantly seasonal in terms of the surrounding weather and aura of the time it’s being made. I also like to use the beauty of domestic household items as inspiration, giving each artwork an inevitable cosy feel.
medium
One of the mediums used is ceramics. I hand-make a range of functional and decorative pinch pottery such as mugs, jewellery charms, vases and other trinkets.
Another medium used is Lino Printing. I draw and hand-carve my designs into reusable lino and print onto various papers and cards using water based inks. This produces a range of unique greetings cards and wall prints.
