Biography
My mission is to subvert the known through my practice to create something new and fresh. I work with tropes and motifs found in classical paintings and then distort them through the lens of a modern woman. My work is bright and vibrant often combining portraiture with patterns or nature. I aim to create fun and enticing work that also hides a deeper message.
inspiration
I am inspired by vintage imagery and all things mystic and whimsical. One huge influence in my work is tarot, I am currently in the process of creating my own music-inspired tarot deck and hope to have these ready by AITP 2023. I draw huge inspiration from historical fashion and design, a favourite era of mine, in particular, is the roaring 20s. My whole brand down to the way I present my stall has a vintage feel and many compare it to a fortune teller's den.
medium
I work across various media but specialise in painting. I use a combination of watercolour and acrylic as well as other embellishments such as gold leaf. I also create Lino prints and really enjoy this process of making as a way to achieve detailed linework. While I use a range of media my work is stylistically cohesive and recognisable as my own.
