Biography
My painting hope to expose many hidden marks within the landscape that we leave behind. Using different ‘mark making’ techniques to express different dualities – abstracting light and dark, rough and smooth, hard and soft to reconnection to place, an interpretation of the natural world is formed.
inspiration
Being inspired by the outdoors, painting plen air and then transferring ideas back in the studio keeps my paintings connected to different landscapes. My artistic boundaries are constantly being re-arranged by new challenges, workshops, travels and exhibition opportunities in galleries around the country.
medium
I prefer using mainly oils and cold wax medium (a clear bees wax added at 50% ratio) a material that helps to build a painterly story but often I use acrylics which are a great medium for quick drying when painting outdoors or doing demos.
