Welsh Daffodil

England Counties Collection

Leicestershire Fox 2020
Biography
Alice seeks to bring together small and large communities through her artwork, using diverse imagery as themes, all anchored by a map of the area she is honoring. Her goal is to remind individuals that they are not alone, even in places that may feel overlooked. She believes every place has its own unique character, holds significance, and is worthy of celebration.
inspiration
Alice draws her primary inspiration from her home county of Leicestershire. It was here that her original concept was born, sparked by the absence of artistic England maps that included Leicestershire. Her deep passion for geography also plays a significant role, and she’s far more likely to be found poring over a map than anything else. The fusion of these two influences created the perfect foundation for Alice to develop the unique artworks she produces today.
medium
Alice primarily works with watercolor paints, the medium she uses for all of her creations. She appreciates how watercolors blend seamlessly and allow her to build layers of depth. One of her main challenges is ensuring her maps remain easy to read without becoming too dark, and watercolors provide the perfect balance for achieving clarity. As her style evolves, Alice has begun incorporating more expressive brushstrokes, particularly in the later stages of her pieces. This newfound expressiveness is evident in her recent work, The UK Florals Collection.
