Many a Winding Turn

Got a Dream

In the Eye of the Storm

I am a visual artist, primarily working as a painter. My work is a detailed exploration into colour, using complex and often confusing arrangements.
I use simple, often repetitive motifs to explore the differing visual effects of various colour schemes. The geometric shape has an order and regularity that can easily be disrupted with the addition of colour. With this as the basis I explore colour through harmonies and simultaneous contrast.
Colours are arranged to both stimulate and confuse the eye and to create illusions of spatial depth and movement on a flat plane.

My initial source of inspiration came from the fashions of the 60's, particularly the bold patterns and colours. This playful use of colour inspired much of my early work, which I have now refined into a more sophisticated colour pallete.

I am primarily a painter, using acrylic paint on canvas. However, more recently I have ventured into print making, specifically screen printing. This is an area I would like to develop further alongside my painting. If selected, I would like to exhibit a mixture of both my paintings and prints.
