White Willow Art
What I hope my ceramic leaf range does is to help connect people with nature, to bring inside a (clean!) bit of the outside, to remind them of peaceful times, sitting in daisy-strewn meadows, walking through woodland, or enjoying their garden.
I hope the whimsy of my hare, bee and mouse range also raises a smile!
Nature is where I always turn to escape the busy world, and is where I turn for inspiration. I have always been one for coming home from walks with pockets filled with acorns, seeds and leaves, and seaside driftwood, all of which inspires my next creation.
I use earthenware clay and real leaves to make tiles that can be hung directly on the wall, or from driftwood or be framed, as well as clocks and dishes. I also sculpt acorns, mushrooms, bees, mice and hares. Clay is a wonderful medium to create what's in your head, but developing the hand skills along with understanding glazes and the alchemy of firing up to 1120°C is not always easy!
