Biography

I believe that the craft of needle-felting under-sells itself. It can, and should be, seen as an art form. This is why I refer to my pieces as ‘Wool sculptures’, because I am working with a natural medium, wool, in the same way as one would do with clay or stone. I also like to inject some humour into many of my pieces.

inspiration

I take inspiration from anything and everything. I never go looking for an idea, something will just come into my head and say “make me”. Whatever that may be, I’m almost always looking at it from a different, perhaps quirky, perspective.

medium

Sculptures begin with a wire armature to help give shape and form, and to this only wool is added. No stitching or gluing is involved, nor pre-made noses or eyes. I often juxtapose my sculptures with every-day objects to bring a touch of humour to the piece.
