In my work I aim to portray the world in a natural way, using photography to show the landscape in it's best light. I am fascinated by the way that light and weather can change the mood of a landscape, and in my photography I aim to capture these moments and present them as a photographic print.
My main inspiration comes from the landscape, both natural, and the manmade environment. I love being outdoors, particularly in rugged places such as mountains and coastlines.
Artists that have inspired me include the photographers Ansel Adams, Micheal Kenna, and Sebastião Salgado. as well as the works of painters like Canaletto and Edward Hopper.
I produce colour and black & white photographic prints digitally, as well as traditional Silver prints in my darkroom. I use a variety of cameras in my work and aim to produce images that are true to what I saw at the time of creating the photo, with no manipulation of the image. For me the print is the most important part of photography and I aim to produce a finished work of the highest quality.
