Light up my life - Shaky

Lucy wanted to show the world that it is OK to express your inner thoughts and feelings through art. Her aim was to become an Art Therapist and help others to heal through expressing what is going on inside through their art. She was very interested in the connections between art and psychology and her final collection for her BA (Hons) Fine Art (Neuro Aesthetic) was a study carried out in conjunction with her twin sister who at the time was carrying out a research project for her Master of Psychology degree.

Lucy was inspired by numerous things – emotions, experiences and perspective of life. She was curious and experimental, exploring the materiality of paint. Her Mark Making collection in particular demonstrates her interest in discovering new ways to use paint to create her art.

Lucy mainly worked with paint. She explored many ways of using paint as she had a great interest in its materiality. She specialised in Paint pouring in her Liberation and Neuro Aesthetic Collections. She also found numerous ways to achieve many different effects using carious types of paint and methods of application in her Mark Making series. She also has explored photography and some of the newly discovered work involves photography
