White Tiger of the Western Skies
With an emphasis on the surreal and fantastical my paintings are expressions of mind, body and spirit. I am interested in exploring the connections between nature's wonders and in bringing attention to the intricacies and beauty of these connections. From a small flower to an exploding supernova, it is my appreciation of the wonders of life that I feel driven to share with others through my art.
Fascinated by the patterns and details of nature my artwork is inspired by both the physical world and the realms of the metaphysical. As an ex-dancer and life-long practitioner of yoga I am also captivated by the human physical form as well as the more spiritual aspects of the human journey as can be experienced through meditation and movement.
I favour water based mediums using predominantly watercolours and gouache. Not only do I enjoy creating soft and translucent colour layers but I also prefer these mediums due to their low toxicity levels and minimal waste, just a small way I feel I can cut back on my environmental impact. I also use coloured pencils and graphite a lot in my work because I like to create finely detailed pieces.
