BEAUTY ACROSS THE SHORE
Contemporary Landscape and Figurative artist.
My landscape oil paintings are representational and semi-abstract paintings of wide vistas and dramatic skies, while my figurative and portrait works are sensitive, detailed studies with more of a focus on the classical style of painting.
The landscapes capture the atmosphere and drama of nature and its seasons, while my figurative works are emotive, with more of traditional representation, heavily influenced by the classics, in which power, action or grace are often depicted.
My studio is based in the small village of Offenham near Evesham, where I continue to create an eclectic body of works. My favoured medium is oil.
My landscapes are heavily inspired by the works of W. Turner and his use of light and colour, to create pieces that realise a 'sense of spirit' of a place and time, - conveying atmosphere and drama to the landscape and its skies.
While my figurative works are tighter and realistic studies inspired by J. Sargants works that focus more on a classical style and close observations.
My working practise is called Fusionarts as I work between new technology, experimenting and discovering within a digital platform and then expressing those sketches and ideas onto the canvas with oil in a more classical approach,
always with the ‘passion’ that drives me to forward to create.
