The Pif smile

Dream big

My main vision for The Pif Smile is to create a collaborative kindness community using many different creative mediums. I want bring people together by making them realise they are not alone. Loneliness is becoming more prevalent in our increasing secular society. In these divisive times, we all need to come together for events like these that promote the beauty that is in life.

I am inspired by other artists like Gemma Correll, Kate Abey and Stacie Swift who use their talents to make people smile. I also love the fact that they are breaking down barriers with mental health issues by sharing their own stories. Humour is a very powerful tool to convey difficult subjects

My main medium that I have used is digital drawing to create my postcards. (specifically adobe sketch)
However I love the more organic approach of paper and pencils or watercolours. I really enjoy being able to feel the flow of what you are creating, which is lost within the digital medium sometimes. I think that is why I have been drawn to Linocutting as a medium for my work.
