Salty Seas

Hand Painted Shoal of Fish

Paper cut "Stormy Boat"

Handmade Driftwood Sculpture

The original vision for Salty Seas was to create work that taps into people memories of childhood holidays. Long hot sunny days on the beach building sandcastles, dripping ice creams, the smell of fish and chips and the sounds of the sea cascading over a shingle beach and the cacophony of squawking seagulls overhead.

All of my work is inspired by the Great British coastline. Not just the look and feel of a place but the stories behind local landmarks and peoples lives. Especially the changing seasons at the seaside, the ebb and flow of visitors, the changing light and how the places come alive in Spring and hibernate for the Winter...

I class it as mixed media because my materials range from using Driftwood, recycled materials, old maps, paper and card, photography and glass...
