Live Out Loud
Embrace the Unknown
As an artist, I am drawn to many different mediums. My current focus is fusing dance photography and street graffiti utilizing digital tools. I'm currently selling my work as greeting cards and art prints. My goal is to continue building on this theme to include other products such as jewelry, clothing, candles, coasters, etc.
The inspiration for my current series stems from my career as a contemporary dancer and choreographer. The photos that I use as source images are from photo shoots of former company members.
The tools I use to create my work are adobe illustrator and photoshop. The source images of dancers come from photo shoots of my former company members. The source graffiti comes from photos I've taken over the years of street graffiti in Austin, TX, England, Spain, Italy and France. I approach my work organically. Starting with only a loose plan for an image, I create a silhouette outline and begin painting with patterns that I have created, while layering images of graffiti. I'm a very visual artist, meaning, I don't know exactly what I want until I see it. In that sense, I throw everything I have at a piece until it reveals itself.
