Betty’s Little Dreams
Wild Poppies in the Car Park
Hung Out to Dry
I enjoy bringing art to people who may not consider going to a gallery or state they have no interest in art. I like art through the post, in postcard form so that art can be accessible to all especially during the pandemic. I like nostalgia and colour and observation. I make art that people find relatable, comforting, inspiring and art that promotes conversation.
To bring art to everyone and to encourage people who may not go to a gallery to not be intimidated by the gallery space. To encourage conversation and reminiscence and comfort through my pictures. Maybe even to encourage people to pick up a paintbrush themselves.
I enjoy painting both acrylic and oil. I love the vibrancy of pastel and the texture of pencil and the drama of charcoal. These are my main mediums. I paint a lot of landscape but went through a phase of enjoying the majesty of birds during Covid. I heard the peacocks at Warwick Castle while on my break in Warwick Hospital at 4am and I liked that nature was reclaiming it’s precious earth.
